Côté was born in Quebec City in 1940. At the age of 17, he entered the family advertising firm as a lettermaker and gradually climbed up the ranks. In the 1960s, he began painting, devoting himself entirely to it in the years that followed. He moved to the Charlevoix region in 1978, where he painted the landscapes tirelessly and gained an important place in the artistic history of the region. In the early 1980s, Bruno Côté traveled through many regions of Quebec and the rest of Canada to paint his colorful landscapes. Côté’s paintings are held in private, corporate and public collections including the Musée D'Art Contemporain de Montréal, the Musée de Charlevoix, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, the Musée Marc-Aurèle Fortin, the Canadian Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Confederation Art Gallery and Museum, Charlottetown (source: www.galeriecosner.com/en/artists/110-bruno-cote)

Reference: Cowin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He entered Indiana University with an eye on a career as a medical illustrator. Later transferring to fine arts and specializing in printmaking, he completed his BFA in 1969 and received his MFA from the University of Illinois in 1971. He then accepted a position in the Fine Arts Dept. at the University of Regina, teaching for 36 years, retiring in 2007.

Reference: Cran graduated in 1979 from the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the National Gallery of Canada [2016] in a large survey exhibition [1984-2016] that combined exhibitions from the Art Gallery of Alberta [2015] and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery [2015]. He received the ACAD Alumni Award of Excellence in 2011. In 2021 he was awarded an Honorary Master of Fine Art from the Alberta University of the Arts. He is represented by Trepanier Baer Gallery in Calgary, Clint Roenisch Gallery in Toronto and Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles.
